Chelsea fans react as Leeds reportedly emerge as ‘likeliest destination’ for Fikayo Tomori

Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori and Elland Road is said to be his ‘likeliest destination’ during the January transfer window – and Blues fans think Leeds is the perfect move for their defender.

Tomori, 23, broke into the Chelsea side under Frank Lampard this season – after Lampard had Tomori on loan at Derby before becoming Blues boss. He played 22 times in all competitions last term, even earning an England cap.

However, this season, he has plummeted down the pecking order. The signing of Thiago Silva has seen Tomori’s game time reduce, falling below the likes of Andreas Christensen, Kurt Zouma and even Antonio Rudiger.

Tomori has been linked with a Chelsea exit this month, and BBC Sport claim Leeds are interested and that a move to Yorkshire is Tomori’s likeliest venture. Newcastle have also been reportedly offered Tomori, while West Ham came close in the summer.

Leeds need a defender. Robin Koch, Diego Llorente and Liam Cooper are all on the sidelines with injuries, while Gaetano Berardi is on the comeback trail from an ACL injury he suffered in the latter stages of last season’s Championship campaign.

Chelsea supporters have reacted on Twitter to reports that Leeds are interested in their centre-back and many fans of the West London club want Tomori to join Leeds – where they think the ex-Hull star will thrive under Marcelo Bielsa.
