Chelsea fans react as Antoine Griezmann is linked with move

Chelsea are best placed to sign Barcelona attacker Antoine Griezmann, according to Spanish outlet Sport. Following the news, Blues fans have been reacting on Twitter.

Barcelona are in the midst of a financial crisis. They have some serious issues with regards to player registrations and some players will have to leave the club.

Now, it’s claimed that Chelsea are leading Juventus, Manchester City and Manchester United in the race to sign the France international.

Griezmann had a pretty steady campaign during 2020/21. He fired 20 goals from 51 appearances in all competitions, with Barca largely below-par.

The attacker operated in the No.10 role for France at Euro 2020. He has showcased in the past, however, an ability to be versatile in a front three.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel will be hoping to stamp his own mark on the squad this summer. He enjoyed a quality end to last season, winning the Champions League.

Some attackers are likely to be the priority for the Blues. Griezmann would certainly represent an experienced and classy option for the team.

The player joined Barcelona for £107 million. They’re unlikely to get anywhere close to that fee for him, whilst the player is also on nearly £600,000-a-week.

Didier Deschamps had high praise for the player at Euro 2020. He called him ‘one of the greatest players of all time’ and ‘remarkable’ despite France losing at the round of 16 stage.

Griezmann to Chelsea: Blues fans not keen

It would seem as though the Chelsea fan base aren’t convinced by seeing Griezmann linked with a Stamford Bridge switch.

Many don’t feel as though he has the required quality to improve the Chelsea squad and would rather Tuchel focuses his efforts elsewhere.
