Chelsea star Kai Havertz will head into Euro 2020 bang in form after an impressive display for Germany on Monday night.
He claimed two assists as Joachim Low’s men thrashed Latvia 7-1 to warm up in some style.
Havertz has put a difficult maiden campaign in the Premier League firmly behind him.
The youngster only played the first half last night but that was enough to stick Latvia to the sword.
Germany led 5-0 at the break and added two more goals during the second 45.
Havertz recently scored the winning goal in the Champions League Final and it hitting form at the right time.
The 21-year-old finished his first season at Chelsea with nine goals and nine assists, with plenty more to come.
Paid £140,000-a-week, Havertz has a really bright future and under Thomas Tuchel’s management, he could thrive.
Prior to next season though he will hope to help Germany to glory at the European Championships.
They were dumped out at the group stages of the last World Cup and Low will want to bow out on a high.
With Havertz pulling the strings in the final third, you certainly wouldn’t bet against them going deep in the tournament.
Havertz will come good at Chelsea
The £71 million signing has come under pressure from some sections of the Blues support this season.
Frank Lampard added him from Bayer Leverkusen and he did struggle to make an initial impact.
As the season progressed, however, he came of age and looks like becoming a decent signing for the club.
