Chelsea fans laud Cesar Azpilicueta after 2-1 win over Leicester

Chelsea took a giant step towards Champions League qualification with a 2-1 win over Leicester City. The Blues gained retribution for Saturday’s defeat in the FA Cup Final thanks to goals from Antoni Rudiger and Jorginho.

Thomas Tuchel’s men roared back to form after two defeats in succession and in front of their supporters they were good value for the three points at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea face Aston Villa on the final day of the season and the challenge of securing a top-four finish is easier after last night’s win.

One man who was in fine form during the recent win was defender Cesar Azpilicueta. He operated in the right wing-back role once more and excelled throughout.

The 31-year-old has been at Stamford Bridge since 2012 when he checked in from Marseille. He’s made 427 appearances for the Blues, scoring 14 goals and claiming 53 assists.

Following tonight’s game supporters took to Twitter to rave about their defender. He was impressive throughout and fans wanted to congratulate the £145,000-a-week player.
