Chelsea were beaten 2-1 by Aston Villa on Sunday as Thomas Tuchel’s men scraped into next season’s Champions League. Afterwards, the fan base did reserve some praise for Ben Chilwell.
It was the former Leicester City man who scored the goal which got Chelsea back into the contest, although goals from Bertrand Traore and Anwar El-Ghazi but Tuchel’s men to the sword.
Fortunately for Chelsea, Leicester were beaten at home by Tottenham which meant joy for the Blues who will now play in the Champions League next season – even if they don’t lift the trophy on Saturday.

Chilwell swapped the King Power Stadium for Stamford Bridge last summer, costing the Blues £45 million. In his maiden campaign at the club, he’s made 41 appearances and helped Chelsea reach two finals.
Following a pretty disappointing day for Chelsea yesterday, supporters did at least have some praise for the left-back. His goal did provide the catalyst for a comeback, although they ultimately fell short.
That didn’t stop supporters taking to Twitter to praise the performance of Chiwell, however. Here is what they had to say about the England star’s performance at Villa Park.
