Chelsea star Timo Werner was bang in form last night as Germany thrashed Armenia 6-0 in their latest World Cup qualifier. Werner scored and registered an assist, with Serge Gnabry grabbing two, Marco Reus, Jonas Hoffman and Karim Adeyemi also grabbing goals.
Werner was signed by Chelsea during the summer of 2020. He was a £45 million signing from RB Leipzig and he didn’t enjoy a bad season during 2020/21. Some will point to a lack of consistency but he did finish with 12 goals and 15 assists for the campaign.
On the back of the Blues signing Romelu Lukaku, Werner might see his game time limited at Stamford Bridge this season. Thomas Tuchel usually favours one up front and that could mean the German playing in a different position.

Werner can only do his best to convince Tuchel that he deserves a place. It certainly seems as though he’s enjoying his football on the international stage and that should bode well.
The 25-year-old was a goal machine in Germany. He scored 95 goals from 159 appearances and Chelsea fought off interest from several clubs to land the player.
He did miss some really good chances during last season but ultimately his numbers were good for the campaign and the hope will be that he can kick on this time around.

At Euro 2020 Werner wasn’t considered the first choice. He did start the game against England though with Germany losing 2-0 and heading out at the round of 16 stage.
Last night it seemed as though the Chelsea man was in good nick. After the game, Blues supporters reacted to his performance, with many hoping he still sees plenty of football during 2021/22. Here is what they had to say:
