Enzo Fernandez scored and assisted for Chelsea against Fulham, but Blues fans are still not happy with him.
The Argentina international has been a key player for the West Londoners since he joined the club, and he has started all three games in the Premier League this season.
Fernandez didn’t have a great start at all. He had a really poor first half, and what he did right at the end of it appears to have enraged Chelsea supporters.
The Daily Mail’s Kieran Gill posted a video on X, showing a visibly annoyed Fernandez running over to fitness coach Marcos Alvarez at the half-time whistle and offering him the captain’s armband.
The journalist further revealed that ‘Fernandez wasn’t happy after Chelsea’s goal’ and was seen yelling at the fans and the home bench.
Chelsea fans slam Enzo Fernandez’s ’embarrassing behaviour’ during Fulham clash
Enzo Fernandez wasn’t great, but he still played a key part in Chelsea’s win.
The former Benfica man assisted Joao Pedro from a corner to help his side take the lead, and he then stepped up to score the penalty after the break.
Chelsea fans would usually be raving about a player after a goal and an assist, but Fernandez’s behaviour at half-time has angered many.
One Chelsea fan tweeted: “What a child!”
Another wrote: “Why’s he doing that when he’s been SO BAD?”
“What is this behaviour in the dressing room?” asked another annoyed fan.
Another Blues supporter tweeted: “Sell him to Saudi tonight. This is our CAPTAIN?!”
“Disgusting behaviour,” wrote another.
Enzo Maresca needs to give Andrey Santos more opportunities
Fernandez’s goals and assists tally improved against Fulham, but his performance needs to be a lot better.
Enzo Maresca’s tactics aren’t really helping the Argentine, who is tasked with pushing forward and making late runs into the box.
Two goals and an assist after three games is a great return for a central midfielder on paper, but we think it’s time for Andrey Santos to get an opportunity in place of Fernandez.
The 21-year-old had an excellent spell on loan in the 2024/25 season but is yet to get a start in the Premier League under Maresca.
The upcoming international break will give Santos a chance to show Maresca what he has got, as he hasn’t been called up to the Portugal squad.
