Chelsea fans applaud Reece James despite losing 1-0 to Arsenal

Chelsea were on the end of a shock 1-0 defeat to Arsenal last night as the Blues were beaten at Stamford Bridge. Thomas Tuchel ran the changes ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup Final and it didn’t pay dividends. 

He saw his team relinquish their recent run of form as the Gunners propelled themselves back into contention for a place in Europe next season.

Tuchel’s men did have their chances but a resolute Arsenal stood firm to deny the Champions League finalists.

One man who did shine for Chelsea was young defender Reece James. He played the full 90 minutes in the right wing-back position and largely did alright.

The 21-year-old has come of age a bit at Stamford Bridge this season. He has played 43 times in all competitions and his development will benefit from such exposure to first-team football.
