The Daily Star claim that talks over a deal for Swansea striker Fernando Llorente are progressing well, with confirmation of the move likely to come this week. The Spaniard has scored six goals in 17 Premier League appearances for the struggling Swans but could noe become an option for the Blues at the other end of the table.
It is unclear yet what form the move will take, with a loan move until the summer with a view to a permanent deal the most likely option, with Michy Batshuayi potentially going the other way until the end of the season.
Despite speculation that John Terry would turn down interest from both Swansea and Bournemouth, the Daily Mail now report that the club captain will hold talks with Eddie Howe next week over a potential loan switch after finding himself on the bench for much of the current campaign.
An ankle injury and change of system have made life difficult for the 36-year-old and he has failed to make a return to the first team at Stamford Bridge and he may now consider his options going into the final six months of what is expected to be his final contract at the club after 19 years in the first team.
The Mirror say that his replacement has already been identified, with Middlesbrough’s Ben Gibson the man to fill the void. However, Boro will not sell the Englishman this month and would only accept a bid worth over £30 million having already turned down one approach from the Blues this season.
The 23-year-old has been very impressive under Aitor Karanka and has already shown that he has the quality to perform regularly in the Premier League and he may well have the potential to develop into a regular for a top club such as Chelsea.
