Spanish newspaper Marca believe that Thibaut Courtois is desperate to make the most of Real Madrid’s interest in him to return to Spain in the summer. The Belgian goalkeeper has been in inspired form of late but is known to hope to one day return to the country where he spent two years on loan at Atletico Madrid.
His girlfriend is from Madrid and it is thought that Zinedine Zidane is keen to add a better quality goalkeeper to his squad to compete with current number one Keylor Navas, with Courtois said to be one of the names at the top of the list.
Chelsea have confirmed the £52 million exit of Brazilian playmaker Oscar, who has now signed for Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG, which will see him earn a remarkable £400,000 per week, say the Daily Mail. The club said:
“Chelsea Football Club and Shanghai SIPG have agreed terms for the permanent transfer of Oscar. We thank Oscar for his wonderful service and wish him the very best of luck for the future.”
Oscar scored 38 goals in 203 games for the Blues and will now be reunited with his former manager at Stamford Bridge in the form of Andre Villas-Boas.
Spanish newspaper Sport claim that Tottenham and Chelsea are set to battle it out for the services of Barcelona’s left back Marc Cucurella. The highly rated 18-year-old is set to see his contract expire in the summer, but despite the club’s intention to renew his current contract, they may face a challenge from the two Premier League giants.
Antonio Conte believes that he could develop into the perfect player to fit into his wing-back system, similar to that which is coached in the youth ranks at Barcelona, where Cucurella has spent the last four years.
