Antonio Conte could look to rob his former club Juventus of one of their top targets as Calciomercato say that the Blues are considering a move for Schalke left-back Sead Kolasinac, who will be available on a free transfer in the summer and is already able to enter into negotiations with foreign clubs as he is in the last six months of his contract.
The Serbian is in high demand and could provide competition for Marcos Alonso on the left-hand side, as Nathan Ake showed his ability to do in yesterday’s win over Brentford.
As Celtic remain firm in their rejection of any interest in Craig Gordon, the Telegraph believe that the club are targeting Salvatore Sirigu as an alternative. The Paris Saint-German stopper is currently on loan at Sevilla but has not been first choice since his move to Spain and may be open to a move.
Sirigu was part of Conte’s Italy squad at Euro 2016, but the move may never be considered if Craig Gordon does request an exit from Celtic Park as reported could be possible.
However, it’s claimed that Asmir Begovic won’t be allowed to leave until a replacement is signed, and Antonio Conte provided an update on his future and that of Branislav Ivanovic as he revealed:
“It is difficult to make a decision but we must respect every decision for the players. We must wait over these next three days and we will see. When one player has the habit to play every game and it happens that you are not playing regularly, it’s not easy to accept this decision. Ivan knows well the situation and I’m pleased if he remains here, if he stays with us. But in this situation, for sure, the player must make the best decision for him, for his family. Ivan deserves great respect for his career at Chelsea. He played a lot of games, he won a lot with this team. I think we have to respect every decision.”
Both players are likely to leave this club with the club reluctant to stand in their way, but replacements, for Begovic at least, are necessary.
