Chelsea could be set to fight it out with Manchester United in a race for £63 million rated midfielder James Rodriguez as the Colombian nears ever closer to the exit door at Real Madrid. The Express claim that the Blues made an approach for him in the summer but were unsuccessful and may now return with another bid.
Rodriguez has started just three La Liga games under Zinedine Zidane this season amid speculation that the two have fallen out with the Frenchman less than impressed by his attitude in training and when given first team opportunities, with club president Florentino Perez reluctantly accepting that he may have to sell.
Antonio Conte has switched his attentions from Italy to Germany in his hunt for a central defender to add depth to his defence, with a battle with Bayern Munich on the cards for Hoffenheim man Niklas Sule, say the Mirror. Sky Sports claim that sporting director Michael Emenalo has been so impressed by Victor Moses’ performances that he will offer him a new contract to ward off interest from Barcelona in the Nigerian international, whose current deal will expire in 2019.
With three goals in 12 Premier League games, Moses has been in great form for his club since adapting to a new role in Antonio Conte’s system as a right wing back and is thriving at Stamford Bridge under the Italian.
