The Sun report that Arsenal are set to lose out to Chelsea in the race for £21 million left-back Ricardo Rodriguez. The Wolfsburg full-back has been linked with both clubs but is believed to have chosen to join the league leaders where he will compete with Marcos Alonso for the left wing back slot in the team.

The 24-year-old has made 17 appearances for his club so far this season, scoring two goals and getting a further two assists, and the set piece specialist could now become an option for Antonio Conte in the coming days. The Swiss international has been one of the most sought after left-backs in the world in recent years so it would be a superb signing for the club.

Arturo Vidal has hinted that he could be on his way to Chelsea after reports emerged that he could be on his way to Stamford Bridge, with the Sun claiming that he liked a picture of him with Antonio Conte during their time together at Juventus which claimed that a move could be on the cards.

The Chilean midfielder is currently at Bayern Munich but has struggled to convince many fans and pundits that his attitude is good enough for the current Bundesliga leaders and the club may be tempted to sell him if Chelsea make a sizeable offer for the 29-year-old.

Former manager Jose Mourinho, now in charge of Manchester United, has hit out with a dig at the club as he said:

“In relation to Tottenham vs Chelsea I hope it’s an amazing football match because they’re two amazing teams that have been given privileges that nobody else has. They’re fresh, so let’s go for a big match.”

The United boss has seen his team struggle in the first half of the season and are left in sixth, some 10 points behind the Blues in the Premier League table so far this campaign.
