Report: Chelsea now want to sign yet another Arsenal target; this time it’s a ‘world class’ goal-getter

Chelsea are keen on signing Bayern Munich winger, Serge Gnabry, as they look to alternatives for the Barcelona bound Raphinha.

The Leeds winger is all set to complete a move to the Camp Nou after terms were agreed. It’s been suggested Raphinha is now simply waiting for the green light to fly to Spain to complete the deal.

With that deal now all but done, Chelsea are looking at alternative options and according to The Telegraph, German star Gnabry is being considered. Of course, this is another example of Chelsea moving for a player who Arsenal want to sign this summer. The Gunners were keen on Raphinha as well, while Gabriel Jesus was also watched by Thomas Tuchel’s coaching staff.

The Telegraph claims that Gnabry could be seen by Chelsea as an ideal solution on the wing. Despite signing Raheem Sterling – more or less – already, the Blues are thought to be keen on adding another wide player. Gnabry, then, who has hit double figures in each of the last four seasons, could be an option.

Gnabry’s future in Munich is in doubt with only a year left on his current deal.

Yet again, we find ourselves looking at a player being linked with Chelsea who Arsenal fancied. And that’s without even mentioning the fact the Gunners considered Sterling as well at one point.

For Chelsea, the offer of Champions League football seems to be putting them ahead of Arsenal when it comes to certain transfers. Gnabry is an interesting one, and Thomas Tuchel might feel he can get the best from his countryman.

He’s certainly a top player, and was labelled as ‘world class‘ previously. Gnabry is now an accomplished player, and it’s easy to see why Chelsea like him.
