Chelsea are advancing in talks to sign a £60m-rated player who Pep Guardiola called ‘incredible’, according to a journalist.

Enzo Maresca has already brought in his first signing of the window, with Tosin Adarabioyo joining on a free transfer from Fulham.

The Italian head coach is expected to completely reshape the style of play at Stamford Bridge and will need certain profiles to fit his system.

That said, it seems his second signing of the summer could be coming through the door imminently.

Chelsea progressing in talks to sign Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise

According to Felix Johnston, Chelsea are progressing in talks to sign Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise, who Pep Guardiola labelled ‘incredible’.

The Chelsea journalist further noted that Olise prefers a move to Chelsea rather than Manchester United, who have been heavily linked with his signature in recent weeks.

Club chiefs are in direct talks with his agent and it seems he’ll be moving on from Selhurst Park for a fee in the region of £60m.

Olise was in Chelsea’s academy when he was younger and it seems he’s keen on making the return to Stamford Bridge under Maresca’s stewardship.

Michael Olise statistics

Olise netted 10 times whilst laying on six assists across 19 outings last term despite an injury-hit campaign.

As per FBref, the 2001-born winger ranks in the top seven per cent fort shot-creating actions compared to his positional peers across the big five leagues.

Further, he sits in the top four per cent for assists, evincing his marvellous ability to create chances.

Pair that with his goalscoring ability and he’s perhaps one of the most talented wide players in the Premier League.
