'Amazing in training': Patino says Arsenal have a player in the ranks he really looks up to

Arsenal youngster Charlie Patino has been talking about some of his Gunners teammates and has admitted that Martin Odegaard is helping him out massively.

Patino has burst onto the scene in recent months and is expected to play this weekend against Nottingham Forest. The teenager is highly-rated at Arsenal, and Mikel Arteta is expecting big things from the teenager.

And after already admitting he hopes Alex Lacazette stays put this summer, Patino has also spoken of his admiration for fellow midfielder Odegaard, who he admits helps him a lot in training.

“Odegaard is amazing in training. He’s really settled in now. He’s a player I really look up to, he’s helped me a lot. Odegaard is very, very good,” Patino said on a live Facebook stream last night.

The Norwegian has really come to the fore in recent weeks. His form has been excellent and he’s firmly staked his claim for the number ten shirt for Arsenal. Indeed, Mikel Arteta has been full of praise for the former Real Madrid man recently.

TBR’s View: Odegaard Is Perfect Mentor For Charlie Patino At Arsenal

Patino already has qualities in abundance, but if he wants to learn more on the attacking side, then Odegaard is the ideal man for him. And clearly, Patino is taking note of the Norwegian.

Odegaard has looked outstanding in recent weeks in fairness. Goals and assists have now started to flow, and that is exactly what Mikel Arteta signed him for. In Patino, he has a top class youngster who is only going to get better.

For Arsenal as a whole, this is an exciting time. They have so much young talent emerging that the future looks extremely bright indeed. And with Patino learning from Odegaard, that can only be a good thing for Arteta, Edu, and the Gunners as a whole.
