Charlie Nicholas has claimed that Arsenal star Nicolas Pepe needs to start delivering more and feels he could be a threat on Tuesday night  for the trip to Stamford Bridge.

The Gunners travel to London rivals Chelsea in midweek for a Premier League fixture and surely need a win to keep any slim hopes of finishing in the Champions League spots this season.

Mikel Arteta’s side sit 10th in the league table as it stands, while fourth-placed Chelsea are currently 10 points above them.

Sky Sports pundit Nicholas has singled out Pepe ahead of the London derby and believes he’s due a big performance.

The rapid winger has shown flashes of brilliance since his £72m arrival (BBC) from Lille in the summer, but is yet to justify the price tag.

“I need so much more from Nicolas Pepe,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.

“I think Arsenal will be dangerous away from home, and Nicolas Pepe can deliver in these games, which suit him. He turned up the last time I said this against Manchester United.”

Pepe has pressure on him to deliver for the Gunners after a big move and is still trying to find consistent form in the final third.

He’s played in 25 games across all competitions this campaign, scoring five goals and supplying four assists in return.

Pepe, 24, is a right-winger that has to step up now for Arsenal during the suspension of goal machine Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Ivory Costa international has blistering speed and is perfect for counter-attacking football, so it will be interesting to see how he fares on the break against Chelsea.
