Charlie Nicholas suggests Liverpool should rotate for Red Bull Salzburg match

Charlie Nicholas has suggested that English Liverpool trio James Milner, Joe Gomez and Adam Lallana could all get the opportunity to play in the Champions League against RB Salzburg tomorrow night.

Gomez and Lallana have just one start apiece to their names so far this season (as per Transfermarkt) but the Sky Sports pundit feels they could both get a chance at Anfield.

As per Sky Sports, Nicholas said: “Liverpool are getting the job done at the moment. If I were Jurgen Klopp I would change a couple of things.

“Joe Gomez could come in and James Milner may get a start. Adam Lallana could get an opportunity, too. It will be a very comfortable night, regardless.”

TBR’s View – Salzburg game won’t be as easy as Nicholas is suggesting

Liverpool’s home form is imperious and they should win the match but they cannot think it will be an easy night’s work or field a disjointed team.

A couple to freshen the side up may work but they don’t want to give their opponents a boost before the game has even kicked off.

Salzburg are more than capable of scoring goals and Liverpool’s defence hasn’t looked quite as assured this season, so it won’t be an easy match at all.

That said, if Klopp can get Gomez and Lallana a rare appearance as well as a win, then it’ll be a good night all-round.
