Celtic on-loan ace Mohamed Elyounoussi has been praised by Charlie Nicholas, who believes the winger can “hurt” Rangers at Ibrox tomorrow despite being “frustrating at times”.
The Hoops have endured a difficult season and will be eager to get their hands on the Scottish Cup, so as to not finish the 2020-21 campaign empty-handed.
However, Rangers stand in their way, with a spot in the quarter-finals up for grabs.
Elyounoussi had a big say in the last Old Firm derby, opening the scoring at Parkhead in March, before Alfredo Morelos grabbed his first goal in the fixture for a final score of 1-1.
As well as talking about the Norway ace, Celtic legend Nicholas acknowledges that Rangers will be favourites going into the encounter given how impressive they’ve been all season.
However, he’s also given credit to John Kennedy for his “bold” comments about the Bhoys being the best in the country, and hopes the team can deliver a similarly bold performance.
“The problem for Celtic is that John isn’t sure what his best starting XI is,” Nicholas told the Daily Record.
“I am a fan of Mohamed Elyounoussi. He is frustrating at times, but he is a good player on his day and can get into areas where he can hurt Rangers.
“John has to go for it – if his team is as bold as some of his comments he has made over the last week then that would please me.”
Elyounoussi has done well this season for Celtic despite a poor season for the team, with 17 goals and seven assists to his name in all competitions.
