Charlie Nicholas is predicting Tottenham to lose on their weekend trip to Burnley in the Premier League and believes they are a team in “meltdown” at the moment.
Spurs are currently enduring a horrible run of results that has threatened to wreck their entire season and they need to put an end to it quickly.
The North London club were knocked out of the FA Cup on penalties by Norwich City on Wednesday night, plus they trail RB Leipzig 1-0 on aggregate from the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie.
Jose Mourinho’s side have also lost back-to-back league games against Chelsea and Wolverhampton Wanderers to mean they have gone four games in all competition without a win.
Sky Sports pundit Nicholas has made the bold suggestion that Spurs are missing fight right now and feels things could get worse for them when they travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley on Saturday evening.
“Tottenham’s priority right now is to try and get a result and to try and defend. His team don’t know how to defend, and he (Jose Mourinho) was once the master of the art,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.
“Have Spurs got the fight and togetherness? I can’t see it. Tottenham are in meltdown and I think Burnley will take no prisoners in this.”

TBR’s View:
Spurs are perhaps missing a bit of extra spark right now in their side, which doesn’t help when they are missing big characters like Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane.
There are current individuals though like Giovani Lo Celso and Oliver Skipp who do have the right mentality, so questioning the fight in the squad seems a bit far-fetched.
But there is no doubt Mourinho’s side find themselves in a massive hole right now going off recent results and have to turn the corner against Burnley, as a top four finish realistically is the only thing that can save them this campaign barring another miraculous European run.
They have dropped down to seventh in the league table and have a five-point cushion to fourth-placed Chelsea to try overturn.
