Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas has predicted that Liverpool’s unbeaten run will come to an end against Wolves on Thursday.
Nicholas was critical of the Reds’ display at times against Manchester United and feels the Old Gold are capable of bringing their undefeated streak to an end.
He said: “I genuinely thought Liverpool looked tired and leggy, especially at the end, against Manchester United. Jurgen Klopp took Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino off in the latter stages, but it was a case of hanging in there and going a bit more defensively. I have never seen that from Klopp but some of those players were dead on their feet.
“As cool as Virgil van Dijk and the back four have been, there was a vulnerability there. I see Liverpool’s first defeat of the season coming on Thursday. Wolves relish the games against the top-six sides. Wolves looked assured at Anfield but got nothing from it. Klopp may make some changes and it could disrupt them a little bit. 2-1.”

TBR’s View – Nicholas is getting way ahead of himself here
Liverpool scored twice, had two goals ruled out, hit the post twice and missed other clear chances against Manchester United.
They battered their bitterest rivals and ensured that the periods in which United dominated the ball came to little aside from a chance for Anthony Martial.
Liverpool are absolutely flying, keeping clean sheets for fun and finding ways to see off each and every opponent.
Wolves had a good comeback against Southampton and played well at Anfield but their squad is thin and fatigue is becoming a small issue.
Predicting a Liverpool loss here looks likely to be wide of the mark from Nicholas.
