Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas expects managerless Everton to stun Chelsea at Goodison Park this weekend following the sacking of Marco Silva.
Toffees legend Duncan Ferguson will take temporary charge for the visit of the Blues and Nicholas has boldly predicted a home win.
He told Sky Sports: “Marco Silva’s immediate replacement may be a temporary one, but it will be one that should give Everton a much-needed lift. I am not convinced by Chelsea’s defence, they looked uncomfortable at times against Aston Villa.
“Things haven’t gone Everton’s way under Silva, but they are a team of scrappers, and I see them battling their way to three points. 2-1.”

TBR’s View – It’s asking a lot for Ferguson to make that instant impact
Everton’s players didn’t down tools on Silva; they were putting in the effort but just struggling badly in terms of belief and quality in both boxes.
That is tougher for Ferguson to rectify in a day than a lack of effort and as such, it might be tricky to make an instant impact, especially against a side who have been one of the best in the Premier League this season.
That makes Nicholas’ prediction bold and although the mood around the club may have been lifted by Silva’s sacking, there might well be few supporters who will expect to come away from Goodison this weekend with a 2-1 win.
