Arsenal legend Charlie Nicholas has named five Gunners youngsters who he feels have “really strong” futures at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners are currently a team in transition and the likelihood is that the summer will bring about numerous changes in playing personnel.
However, several young Arsenal players have really impressed this season and Nicholas is excited about the future could bring for them and for the Gunners.
“There’s been slow improvement for Arsenal under Mikel Arteta and I like his authority,” Nicholas wrote on Sky Sports.

“I’m excited about the progress of the youngsters, and for the first time in a while I feel there’s a genuine hope for those coming through.
“Bukayo Saka, Reiss Nelson, Joe Willock, Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah all have really strong Arsenal futures.”
Saka, a winger playing as a full-back, has already made 29 senior appearances this season, while Nelson is currently on 15.
Willock is on 32, Martinelli has played 26 times, and Nketiah has made six Arsenal appearances after being recalled from Leeds United in January.
TBR View:
It’s not been an easy season for Arsenal or indeed their fans but the aforementioned players have all done well for the Gunners and, as they progress and pick up more experience, they could develop into genuine world class players.
Saka and Martinelli are still just 18 years old, while Nelson, Willock and Nketiah are 20, so there is likely to be plenty more to come from all five, and depending on who the Gunners sign in the summer to bolster the ranks, there could be a truly exciting team awaiting the Gooners in 2020-21.
