Pundit Charlie Nicholas has said that Everton manager Marco Silva is never more than two games away from a crisis in a bizarrely pessimistic assessment of the Toffees.
As per Sky Sports, Nicholas says he has not yet been convinced by Silva’s Everton and can see serious trouble ahead if just a couple of bad results come their way.
He said: “Bournemouth are strong at home and I am still not convinced with Everton. Marco Silva is always two bad results away from a crisis.
Normally, Everton start cold but they have started alright, although they have to win these football matches if we are to see an improvement. We are looking at goals for both teams. Callum Wilson, Josh King and Ryan Fraser will all be fresh after the international break, so I will be going for a Bournemouth win here.”
TBR’s View – Nicholas has got this one horribly wrong
Silva’s job was on the line around the turn of the year because Everton were showing defensive weakness, the home form wasn’t good enough and there were doubts over his ability and willingness to do the business at a Premier League club over the course of a whole season.
He fired back stronger than ever, leading Everton to some exceptional home wins over the top six as well as holding Liverpool 0-0 before following that up with another strong transfer window.
Everybody connected with Everton realises how important it is to have continuity and stability as they look to finally bridge the gap to the top six and Silva looks to be the right man.
“Two games away from a crisis” is not an accurate way to describe Silva’s situation at all and Nicholas has got this one horribly wrong.
