Last week saw a managerial change in north London and Arsenal fans may well be hoping another one follows suit after Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Southampton.
Mauricio Pochettino is now out of work but former Gunners playmaker Charlie Nicholas isn’t so certain that the Argentine could make serious improvements at the Emirates Stadium.
He told Sky Sports: “He is a top-quality coach. We did it with Sol Campbell in the past and we know what mayhem that created. This would be even more.
“The question mark beside him is that he didn’t win any prizes. They didn’t always get results against the rest of the top six so that’s a question mark too. Would he improve this Arsenal side? I am not so sure. I think it needs a rebuild defensively right from the centre backs.”

TBR’s View – Pochettino would implement a clear identity, Emery hasn’t
Pochettino’s Tottenham did have a good defensive record and Emery’s Arsenal are declining in every metric with no discernible idea of what he is trying to do.
There’s every chance Pochettino would improve Arsenal – and his appointment would cause a bigger splash than Sol Campbell’s move – but it would be a huge shock if he went there.
