Charlie Nicholas is predicting Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho to try pull off a defensive masterclass against Liverpool at the weekend.
Spurs welcome an in-form Liverpool to their home for a Premier League fixture on Saturday and will do so without key injured players such as Harry Kane, Moussa Sissoko and Hugo Lloris.
The North London club sit sixth in the table six points adrift of the Champions League positions as it stands, while in contrast Liverpool are running away with it at the top of the table.
Jurgen Klopp’s team have won 19 and drawn one in the league so far this campaign to sit a staggering 13 points clear at the top after 20 games.
Spurs will be underdogs to get a result against Liverpool and were beaten 2-1 at Anfield in the previous league meeting this season.
Sky Sports pundit Nicholas has predicted a 1-1 draw in the weekend’s fixture and has pinpointed how Mourinho will try to limit his opponent.
“Jose has always been the manager who will get a result from this sort of game,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.
“He will block the wide areas and will highlight where the real dangers lie. He may play Lucas Moura down the middle and Heung-Min Son out the left, and try to bring in players to counter-attack and block the path of the full-backs.
“It will be an away performance from Tottenham in this one, but it is the only way you can stop them.

TBR’s View:
It’s no secret that Liverpool enjoy a lot of success from their attack-minded full-backs Trent Alexander Arnold and Andy Robertson, but stopping them is a totally different proposition.
Mourinho has shown in the past during his managerial career that he’s capable of pulling off defensive masterclasses.
But his Spurs team have just one clean sheet in 12 games across all competitions since the Portuguese boss took charge and it quiet simply doesn’t have the personnel right now.
Mourinho hasn’t quite stamped his mark on the team yet and it’s going to be extremely difficult against arguably the best team in the world right now in Liverpool at the weekend.
