Charlie Lindsay has posted on Instagram after it was confirmed the teenager had become Rangers’ second summer signing following the addition of Ianis Hagi on a permanent basis.

Lindsay, 16, has signed professional terms with Rangers after impressing as captain of the Rangers youth team that impressed at the recent Alkass Tournament. In five games, Lindsay was awarded the man of the match in four – with the armband.

That form, twinned with becoming Northern Irish side Glentorn’s youngest ever professional player after making his debut in September 2019, has convinced Rangers to complete a permanent deal for the youngster.

Already in the mix with Northern Ireland’s Under-17 side, attacking midfielder Lindsay posted on his Instagram story after it was confirmed he had agreed a move to the Scottish giants – with a deal complete, subject to international clearance.

Lindsay is expected to link-up with Rangers’ Under-18 and second string sides over the course of the next few months with a view to eventually breaking into Steven Gerrard’s senior team when aged 18 or 19.

He will have plenty of competition ahead of him in the pecking order, with the likes of Ianis Hagi, Ryan Kent and Joe Aribo currently the first-team options in the number 10 role. It is unclear how long a deal Lindsay has agreed.
