Charlie Austin picks Tottenham star Harry Kane's new club in five-word Tweet

Harry Kane has reportedly told Tottenham that he wants to leave the North London club this summer after another struggling Spurs campaign that sees them sit in sixth – and Charlie Austin has picked his next club on Twitter.

Kane, 27, has enjoyed another wonderful campaign on a personal level – scoring 32 goals himself and creating 16 more in 47 league and cup appearances. But the England skipper’s form has not been reciprocated by the club.

Sky Sports, among others, have reported that Kane has told Tottenham – once again – that he wants to leave. He did so last summer but was convinced to stay and now it is claimed that both Manchester clubs and Chelsea are in talks.

It is a transfer bombshell that will strike worry into the hearts of Tottenham fans and Austin – who remains contracted to West Brom until June – has picked the ideal club for Kane going forward, in Manchester United.

TBR’s view – Will Tottenham really end up selling Kane?

It is one thing informing his side that he wants to leave, but it is another for clubs to actually manage to sign the striker. Daniel Levy is notoriously difficult to bargain with, and he is said to want at least £150million for Kane.

Celtic strike Premier Sports deal - is this the "additional value" we've been waiting for?

Kane wants to remain in the Premier League as he looks to reel in Alan Shearer’s all-time goalscoring record. But even in the midst of a pandemic, can Chelsea and both Manchester clubs afford Kane with other signings needed?

Levy is not going to reduce his asking price. If that price tag is met, then of course, Spurs could clash in on Kane but the likelihood is that clubs will be priced out of a move for the England captain.
