Rangers finished their Europa League group stage campaign with a good draw away in France to Ligue 1 giants, Lyon, as a Scott Wright goal ensured a share of the spoils.
The Gers were 1-0 up through Wright at half-time but Lyon scored almost immediately after the break via an own goal from Calvin Bassey. However, on the whole, it was a good night’s work for Rangers and their new manager, Giovani van Bronckhorst.

A number of Rangers players are impressing under the Dutchman, and former Scotland midfielder Charlie Adam was left impressed by Joe Aribo last night, despite him only playing for around 20 minutes.
“Roofe has been out with an injury and got a good few minutes. Joe Aribo is game changer though. It would have to be big money to get him in January,” Adam commented while watching for the BBC.
Aribo has been key for the Gers over the last 18 months. This season, he has started all 16 SPFL games, proving his worth to both former boss Steven Gerrard, and now Van Bronckhorst.
It would be little surprise to see clubs in for Aribo. Not least Gerrard’s Villa, who will no doubt want to strengthen in January.
TBR’s View: Aribo Proving A Class Act For Rangers
Now 25, Joe Aribo is really growing into a top player at Scottish and European level. Charlie Adam was right to point him out, and he is right too in that it would surely take a big bid now for anyone to sign him.
It very much seems this is a midfielder who has learnt from his managers. He had the very best in terms of Gerrard, and he seems to be carrying it on under GVB.
The sky’s the limit really for Aribo. And there will no doubt come a time when he has to make a big call on his Rangers future, should those big clubs come knocking.
