Ex-Rangers midfielder Charlie Adam has raved about the qualities of current Ibrox star Ross McCrorie.
The 20-year-old prodigy has forced himself into first-team contention during Steven Gerrard’s tenure this campaign and made 22 senior appearances across all competitions.
He is a product of the Light Blues academy and is an all-action central midfielder proving himself at senior level.
Adam believes that McCrorie demands a key role in the starting XI due to the fact he matches the high intensity style of play that manager Gerrard is trying to implement.
“I’ve seen the majority of the games this season and for me Ross McCrorie has to play because of the way Steven [Gerrard] is looking for the midfield to press the ball,” Adam told the Daily Record.

TBR’s View:
There is no doubt that Rangers have unearthed a gem with McCrorie and he fully deserves to be cementing his spot in the team.
Gerrard has a number of options to select from when picking his midfield trio with the likes of Ryan Jack, Steven Davis, Lassana Coulibaly and Scott Arfield, but the youngster has to be in there for the big games.
McCrorie is a midfielder with an excellent work-rate that makes tackles all over park and his desire to win the ball back is crucial for the team.
Rangers have missed his presence in the centre whenever he is absent and having someone that can do the ugly work is often vital to all top teams.
