Charles Watts shares Fabio Vieira update after Arsenal gem spotted limping in training

Charles Watts has reassured Arsenal fans with regards to Fabio Vieira after the midfielder was spotted limping in training.

The Goal.com Gunners correspondent said on his YouTube channel that there was “nothing to worry about” regarding the 22-year-old.

Mikel Arteta has been putting his players through their paces ahead of Thursday’s Europa League meeting with Bodo/Glimt.

On Wednesday, Football Daily shared footage of the Gunners’ latest training session at London Colney.

At around 45 seconds in, several Arsenal players were tussling for the ball. And in the aftermath, Fabio Vieira is seen limping away.

This sparked some concern, but Watts made it clear that the Portuguese was fine and rejoined in the session.

“I know there’s some stories doing the rounds today that he limped out of training,” he said on his YouTube channel.

“Before your Europa League games cameras and stuff are allowed in down the training ground from various media outlets.

“They are allowed to watch 15 minutes and film 15 minutes of the training session.

“And during those 15 minutes I think he took a bit of a kick in one of the drills that they were doing and he kind of limped away a little bit.

“I’ve seen some stories and we’ve limped out of Arsenal training and that’s not the case. He joined in again.

“So nothing to worry about when it comes to Vieira… he’s going to be exciting to watch.”

While it was disconcerting to see Vieira limping, he looked like he had a smile on his face.

And pretty much everyone around him, during and after that moment, didn’t look concerned.

It looks like a great atmosphere in the Arsenal camp, and no surprise really, given how well they’ve been doing.

Arteta and Edu deserve credit for putting together such a cohesive team amid criticism over the past few years.

Obviously it’s still early in the season but Arsenal are certainly on the right track.
