Reported Newcastle United target Niklas Sule is almost certain to leave Bayern Munich next year, according to Sky Germany.
The Magpies have been linked with the 26-year-old defender for a number of months.
Local outlet Newcastle World claimed in November that the Magpies and Sule’s representatives have held talks.

In the same month, BILD head of sport Christian Falk reported that the player is keen on the project at St James’ Park.
Sule’s contract expires at the end of the season.
Now, Sky Germany have claimed that a transfer away from Bayern is “as good as sealed”.
The Germany international reportedly feels undervalued by the Bundesliga champions.
This is despite his impressive performances over the last few years.
Sky Germany add that it will be ‘difficult or even impossible’ for Sule to sign a new contract with Bayern.
Can Newcastle land “world-class” player?
Sule is a top player with an incredible CV which includes four Bundesliga titles and one Champions League.
He has clocked up over 150 competitive appearances for Bayern and 37 Germany caps.
“Niki’s contract expires next year, and his last season was not especially felicitous,” Julian Nagelsmann said in summer.
“But he also has everything that a world-class central defender needs; that shouldn’t be forgotten.”
Newcastle signing Sule would be an incredible statement of intent.
He’d be unlikely to come in the summer.
However, if the Magpies survive in the Premier League, he’d be a fairly realistic shout.
