Champions League side’s president wants £47m for Liverpool, Arsenal-linked striker

Jeunes Footeux claim Lille president Olivier Letang wants as much as £47million for striker Jonathan David – with Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham all linked with a move for the Canada international.

David, 21, has scored 14 goals in 24 games for Lille this season – already netting more than he did in his first season for Lille last term, which saw him net 13 in 48 appearances. His form has dramatically improved.

That has not gone unnoticed. Jeunes Footeux report that among the clubs interested, Arsenal and Tottenham are keen – while the Liverpool Echo reported that Jurgen Klopp’s men are also keen.

The report states that Lille president Letang is keen to take advantage. Lille’s financial crisis is worsening and they might have to cash in on David – he wants a whopping £47million for David.

Arsenal, Liverpool or Tottenham: Which is best for David?

If the New York-born ace is focused solely on being first choice and getting game time, then Arsenal is the club for him. The Gunners are about to lose Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette.

Both are out of contract in the summer, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang seems past his best. So, for game time, Arsenal would be best for David. Tottenham have a bigger stadium, and a better manager.

Working under Conte might be tempting, but only if Harry Kane goes. Liverpool have numerous options up top, but replacing Divock Origi will hardly tempt a player that starts week in, week out now.
