Both Trevoh Chalobah and Lucas Moura picked out Liverpool star Alisson after being asked by the official Premier League website which goalkeeper they would put in their fantasy team.

Of course, with the league season just about to start up again, fans are starting to give some thought to their teams which will have largely remained untouched over the last few weeks while the World Cup was on.

But there are some players fans simply cannot ignore. Even the most optimistic Leeds supporter will struggle to leave Erling Haaland out of their side for next week.

Ahead of the season’s resumption, the Premier League website asked a number of players who they would have in their team in each position.

Haaland, Harry Kane and Kevin De Bruyne were amongst those mentioned. But it is fair to say that there was something of a tendency to opt for teammates. Yves Bissouma picked both Hugo Lloris and Kane in their respective positions.

But there was one Liverpool player both Chalobah and Lucas picked out. Both the Chelsea starlet and Tottenham forward opted for Alisson in goal. Admittedly, Lucas also mentioned Ederson.

Alisson has helped set the standard between the sticks in the Premier League in the last few years. It has largely been himself and Ederson out in front, ahead of everyone else.

Tite was faced with the impossible decision of picking one over the other at the World Cup. And interestingly, he opted for Alisson for the majority of Brazil’s games in Qatar.
