Cesc Fabregas took to Twitter to laud Arsenal after their outstanding victory over Manchester United on New Year’s Day.
The Gunners have their first win under Mikel Arteta after beating United 2-0 at the Emirates. Nicolas Pepe and Sokratis both got onto the scoresheet during the first-half to secure the three points.

A comfortable lead seemed to be nothing more than Arsenal deserved after an excellent first-half performance. And they rarely looked troubled by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men throughout the contest.
The win has arguably been coming. There have been a number of positive signs during the early stages of Arteta’s tenure.

Many of those came during the 2-1 defeat to Chelsea. Plenty of fans noted how well Arsenal had played during the first-half against the Blues.
And it was only two poor pieces of play at the back – and perhaps, some questionable officiating – that denied the Gunners a share of the points.
Arsenal produced another scintillating first-half performance on New Year’s Day. But this time around, they managed to capitalise and kill the contest off.
And in response, Fabregas felt compelled to take to social media to laud the Gunners’ display. The midfielder claimed that it was the best performance that he has seen from the side for some time.
