Everton travel to Chelsea on Sunday in the Premier League and there could be a colossal chance for one of their centre-forwards to make themselves a hero.
Manager Marco Silva has confirmed that Richarlison is a doubt ahead of the league fixture at the weekend and will need to be assessed on Saturday.
Richarlison, 21, has turned out to be a brilliant addition over the summer to the squad and there is no doubt he has cemented his spot in the side.
The Brazilian’s potential absence could well see Cenk Tosun come into the starting XI and it would be the biggest game of his Everton career so far if he starts.
Tosun would be showing the manager he deserves a starting berth if he delivers a match-winning performance against an impressive unbeaten Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Richarlison’s flexibility and form means he will play for the Merseyside club whenever he is fit, but whether his best position is in a central role or on the wing still remains up for debate.
Tosun could help solve that debate by proving he deserves a regular starting role and he’s a more natural fit for the number nine position.
It will be the biggest test for the 27-year-old since he joined Everton, as if he fails the consequences could be a long spell watching on from the sidelines and being restricted to cameos.
Tosun has shown glimpses of his ability since a £27million arrival (Sky Sports) last January, but has to deliver at the weekend if he gets the opportunity.
