Celtic's toothless display against Hibernian proves they should sign Fran Sol
Celtic fell to a 2-0 defeat against Hibernian yesterday and their lack of options up front cost them.
With Leigh Griffiths taking a break from football for personal reasons, Celtic are solely reliant on Odsonne Edouard.
While Edouard is a good striker, he cannot carry this Celtic team alone; he needs support up front.
And their toothless display against Hibernian was all the proof that Brendan Rodgers needed to enter the January transfer market.
Celtic need one, if not two, new strikers this month and they have been linked with Fran Sol.
According to TEAMtalk, Celtic, Rangers and a clutch of English clubs are chasing Willem II striker Sol.
The 26-year-old has scored 12 goals in 16 Eredivisie games this season, making him one of the deadliest strikers in the division.
Sol learned his trade at Real Madrid and has since played for Villarreal but the Spaniard could now be on his way to Scotland.
At Celtic, he would be able to compete in the Europa League and challenge for the domestic title and cup.
And with his contract expiring at the end of the season, January could be the perfect time for Celtic to launch a cut-price move.
Although the Bhoys face competition for his services, their lack of options up front should prompt them to move quickly for Sol in January.
