One of the more surprising comments to be made following Celtic’s recent 3-3 draw with Aberdeen came when Kris Boyd criticised Tom Rogic’s work-rate.
Rogic’s form has dipped at times during his Parkhead spell. And in fairness to Boyd, when he is not at the races, he can arguably be a player who can become anonymous.

But at Aberdeen, he provided two superb assists for the Hoops. Nevertheless, Boyd still felt that the Australian did not contribute enough in the draw.
“Whatever way you look at it, the only way you can turn around results is by working hard on your opponents, and things will happen,” he told Sky Sports.

“I know Neil Lennon mentioned a few players, but there were a lot of other ones, and you can include Tom Rogic in this, he was walking about in stages here, and for Celtic right now, they don’t need that.”
It has been a bizarre season for Celtic. Should they win their games in hand, they will be just three points off the Scottish Premiership summit. They are also into the Scottish Cup final.
But there are problems for Neil Lennon to address over the international break and beyond. However, one player he can arguably ask for little more from right now is Rogic.
The 27-year-old produced another moment of magic at the weekend. His superb footwork set up one of Mohamed Elyounoussi’s goals at Motherwell.
That came after it was also his brilliant turn and shot that allowed Leigh Griffiths to get one back in the Europa League on Thursday.
And obviously, he provided two assists in the Scottish Cup semi-final at the start of the month.
Rogic may not be the player who puts the miles in as Boyd perhaps feels he should. But if any player is going to prove to be the catalyst for Celtic’s turnaround this season, it is surely going to be their Wizard of Oz.
