According to recent reports, Southampton are considering bringing in Brendan Rodgers to replace Mark Hughes.
With Hughes recently losing his job, Southampton could move for Celtic boss Rodgers as their next manager, according to the print edition of The Mirror via HITC Sport.
Rodgers would have a major decision to make if Southampton made a formal approach for his services.
Should he remain in Scotland with Celtic or jump at the chance to return to the Premier League?
If Rodgers had any doubt about whether to stay at Celtic or move to Southampton, surely this week has made up his mind.
Although the performances were not immune to criticism, it was a perfect week for Celtic in terms of results.
On Thursday night, the Bhoys boosted their hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages of the Europa League with a tough-fought 1-0 win away at Rosenborg.
And they followed that up with a 1-0 win in the Scottish League Cup final on Sunday, beating Aberdeen by a narrow margin.
Rodgers is on the brink of creating history at Celtic Park. If he can guide his side to the league title and Scottish Cup success, then Celtic would complete their third consecutive domestic treble.
At the same time, the Northern Irishman looks like he will take his side further in the Europa League.
This is surely a better option for Rodgers at the moment, rather than a relegation battle in the Premier League.
