Celtic are edging closer to signing 21-year-old wideman Marian Shved to further bolster their attacking options this month, according to the Scotsman.
They report that Brendan Rodgers has set his sights on the Ukrainian international and talks between the Bhoys and his club Karpatvy Lviv are at the ‘final stages’.
Along with his international experience, Shved has good pedigree as he spent two years with Sevilla before returning to Ukraine, where he is performing impressively enough now to catch Rodgers’ eye.
Celtic have never really replaced the contribution of Patrick Roberts and Shved will hope to be that man, as Rodgers prepares to a renewed assault on retaining their title and continuing to progress in Europe.

Some might ask why Rodgers isn’t focusing more on getting a right back through the door, but while that search stalls, the Northern Irishman has decided to boost his firepower.
Celtic’s lack of striking options may have held them back at times this season, but one way to rectify that is with another winger to provide service and that’s what Shved can offer.
He is still a young player with plenty to learn but the same could be said about Roberts when he first pitched up at Parkhead and if Shved emulates the Englishman’s impact, he will be very pleased indeed.
