Now, the Bhoys are looking for more new recruits ahead of their Champions League qualifiers.

And the Daily Mail claims Celtic have set their sights on Nisbet, who has been shining for Hibernian.

Celtic are apparently begun trying to establish how much it would cost to bring the 24-year-old to Parkhead.

Hibs are reportedly holding out for £4million and, though they have no need to sell, are open to discussions.

“Gets people up out their seats”

Kris Doolan used to play alongside Nisbet at Partick Thistle and was one of the Hibs man’s early career influences.

Speaking to the Glasgow Times, the Arbroath striker said: “I think he would excel in that type of environment.

“He’s got the tools to do it and he is applying himself.

“He gets people up out their seats because he only needs that one chance.

“At Celtic, he’ll get a barrowload of chances, and Kevin will continually put the ball in the back of the net for you.

“I definitely think he’d excel in that type of environment, he’ll rise to that challenge.”

Celtic could land a “brilliant signing”

Doolan also says Nisbet would join Celtic with the right attitude, namely wanting to work hard for a starting berth.

He also feels his former teammate would become even better than he is now, thanks to the quality that would surround him.

“I think he’ll go in there thinking he has to work hard to make sure he gets in the team,” Doolan added. “He’ll want to be in the starting XI.

“I definitely think he will turn out to be a brilliant signing.

“He will have better players around him at Celtic, and that will make him a better player too. He is going to continue to improve.”
