Celtic transfer: Postecoglou reportedly set to oversee major departure
Celtic are set to lose defender Kristoffer Ajer. According to The Daily Record, the star man is set to sign for Premier League newcomers Brentford after a fee was agreed.
It is claimed that the Bees will pay around £13.5 million for the Norwegian, with the structure of payments agreed between the two parties.
Ajer will become Brentford’s club-record signing and he’ll bolster the team ahead of their maiden campaign in the top-flight.

Thomas Frank led his team into the Premier League after winning the Championship play-offs during the 2020/21 campaign.
Ajer has been at Celtic since 2017. He checked in from Norwegian outfit Start and has become a mainstay in the Hoops’ team over the years.
The 23-year-old has featured 176 times for the Parkhead outfit, scoring seven goals and registering seven assists.
Not only can he operate as a central defender, but he’s also proved capable in the midfield holding role. That versatility will certainly give Frank something to think about.
Ajer to Brentford: Move could be ideal for Celtic and Ange Postecoglou
This summer is vital for the Hoops. Their new manager will try desperately to wrestle the Scottish Premiership crown away from Rangers.
Last season the title was won at a canter and for Celtic supporters, it proved an embarrassing campaign.
Ajer would have been out of contract next summer. As a result, selling him now looks like making perfect sense.
It will give Postecoglou plenty to spend in order to strengthen his squad, whilst it rules out the possibility that Ajer will walk away for free.
Brentford have landed themselves a player who could still improve and he’ll enhance their chances of surviving in the Premier League.
For Celtic though this looks like a good fee and now the challenge will be for the club to spend it wisely.
