Celtic teenager Owen Moffat has confirmed that he has penned a new deal until the summer of 2024 with a post on Twitter, underlining his delight at agreeing a long-term deal at his boyhood club.
Moffat, 19, joined Celtic aged just eight years old and has risen through the ranks. On his birthday (Wednesday), the midfielder signed a new contract – after recently breaking into Celtic’s reserve team managed by Tommy McIntyre.
The midfielder is not the only player to have signed a contract this week, with young defender Ewan Etoo also penning a contract until the summer of 2024. Etoo has also broken into the reserves of late.
Moffat posted on Twitter to share his joy at signing a new deal. He posted a picture in which he is penning his new deal, and a brilliant picture of him as a ballboy alongside Kieran Tierney scoring in the Champions League.

Moffat will be hoping to solidify his place in the Under-23 side this season with a view to breaking into the senior side. But his new long-term contract gives him the time required, and eases the pressure on his shoulders.
Celtic supporters have reacted on Twitter to the news that Moffat has signed a new deal, responding to his Tweet.
