Celtic are reportedly interested in defender Omar Elabdellaoui from Greek club Olympiakos.
According to the Daily Express, the Bhoys are eyeing a raid for the 27-year-old and believe he could make a positive impact at Parkhead.
It is understood that the right-back is valued at around £4million and that he’s under contract with Olympiakos until 2021.
Elabdellaoui is an experienced defender that has emerged on the radar of the Scottish giants and has played in the Europa League this campaign for his team.
The Norway international is a right-sided flyer that loves to bomb forward from the full-back area and can make a big difference in the final third with his pace.
He’s made 21 appearances across all competitions so far this season, scoring two goals and supplying five assists in return.
Elabdellaoui could be a significant signing for Celtic if they step up their interest in him, as their right-back area is a weakness in the current side.
Mikael Lustig is an inconsistent performer on the right flank and Olympiakos’ speed demon looks like he could be an upgrade.
He would be able to provide a much great attacking threat, while emerging youngster Anthony Ralston doesn’t look quite ready to takeover the main senior position.
