Celtic are reportedly interested in Borussia Dortmund defender Jeremy Toljan.
According to the Scottish Daily Mail (29 January, Page 78), the Bhoys are keen on bringing the 24-year-old to Parkhead.
The Scotland giants have been linked with a number of right-backs already in January and it’s not a surprise that the club are trying to find competition for Mikael Lustig.
Full-back Lustig can turn in some inconsistent performances at times and it’s definitely an area of the pitch that could be improved.
Celtic may finally have found an ideal solution in the form of Toljan, who could slot in well under manager Brendan Rodgers.
Toljan has been completely frozen out so far this season and failed to make a single first-team appearance for a Dortmund side that are top of the Bundesliga.
But that shouldn’t deter Celtic despite his rough time with the German club.
The speed machine previously impressed with his former club Hoffenheim and just needs a fresh move to reignite his form.
Toljan can be a powerhouse right-back when at his best and is still at an age where he’s got plenty to improve on.
Rodgers has helped Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney make colossal improvements under him and he could potentially work wonders with Toljan as an attack-minded defender.
