Celtic target Aaron Connolly would be a risk worth taking for Brendan Rodgers
Celtic should step up their reported interest in striker Aaron Connolly from Premier League club Brighton.
According to the Scottish Sun, the Bhoys are considering a move for the 18-year-old and are not the only team keen in the in-demand ace.
It is understood that Manchester City, Manchester United, Hoffenheim, Leeds United, QPR and Millwall have also checked on the Republic of Ireland Under-19 international.
The report details that Brighton may be prepared to loan out their highly-rated youngster in January once he signs a long-term contract, but the player may want a permanent switch in search of first-team football.
Celtic could really do with a reinforcement at striker in the New Year and should make an approach for Connolly, whether that be on loan or on a permanent basis.
The teenage goal machine has been in stunning form for Brighton’s Under-23s side this season, scoring 17 times across all competitions already.
He was named the Premier League 2 player of the month for November and is a striker that clearly knows where the back of the net is.
Connolly may not be ready to make an immediate impact at Celtic ahead of senior option Odsonne Edouard, but looks to have massive potential and could provide an alternative choice.
Brendan Rodgers has shown his willingness to promote youth and should take a gamble on the Brighton hotshot.
