Celtic’s young Australian talent Daniel Arzani has spoken about his knee injury this week, as he closes in on a comeback.
Celtic signed the Iranian-born star on a two-year loan deal from Manchester City in August 2018, just over a week after the Socceroo had joined Manchester City.
Excitement was high regarding the player, who was in the Australia squad at that summer’s World Cup.
However, he suffered a torn ACL on his debut against Dundee and has not played for Celtic since.

Speaking with the Wide World of Sports in his homeland, Arzani admitted the terrible impact the injury had on him at the time.
“It was really tough – really tough for my family.
“I think I showed I had some potential at the World Cup and I think the Asian Cup was a chance for me to set that in stone and really perform well. But it is what it is… what can you do?”
However, he also made it clear in his discussions with the publication that he is getting close to his second debut with the Celtic first-team.
Arzani was signed by previous Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers so still has to impress new boss Neil Lennon before getting a chance.
Celtic take on Sarajevo tonight in their Champions League qualifier second leg and Arzani is present in the squad. He will no doubt be hoping he can finally get a chance to shine for the Celtic fans.
