Celtic supporters discuss future of midfielder Tom Rogic
Tom Rogic’s future at Celtic could be in doubt this summer after a frustrating season in which he only managed a handful of starts under Neil Lennon – and many Hoops fans think he should be sold in the coming months.
Rogic, 27, has surpassed seven years at Celtic and has clocked up a whopping 189 appearances in all competitions in that time – scoring 38 goals and creating another 34. But the past couple of seasons have been difficult for Rogic.
The playmaker sustained a knee injury while on international duty with Australia in January 2019, and has not been right since. When he has played, he has looked a shadow of his former self. This season, he has started just 10 games under Lennon.
However, glimpses of magic remain which make Rogic a matchwinner. Indeed, he has been crucial in Celtic’s nine-in-a-row pursuit, and has three years left to run on a contract which expires in the summer of 2023.
Olivier Ntcham and Ryan Christie have been excellent in the attacking-midfield roles and if Rogic does remain at Parkhead this summer, he is likely to be third choice, if Lennon’s options in that position remain the same.
Celtic supporters were asked by a popular fan sit on Twitter if they believed Lennon should keep Rogic or let him go in the coming months, and some think it would be best for right-footed ace to depart.
Back in December, the World Game claimed Celtic valued him at around £10.75million.
Should have sold last summer if you ask me. If we keep Ntcham and Christie he’ll be third choice in the 10 position

His whole Celtic career is built on myths. Hardly fit, hardly scores and hardly makes assists. Christie more effective in half a season that rogic has ever been in a full season. Punt.

He’s a conundrum. Super footballer. Maybe the best player we have but he’s nowhere near consistent enough. We need players who contribute. Played this game myself at a decent level and seen scores of players blessed with unreal natural ability but added little on a sat morning.

He’d suit a Serie A team

Ntcham and Christie are far better players in that no.10 role, but if hes happy to stay as a squad player I'd keep him. However much hes not fit hes still a match winner when hes on form.
