Celtic supporters bemoan Christie injury blow suffered in Salzburg defeat
Celtic qualified for the last 32 of the Europa League last night, thanks to a favour from Rosenborg, whose 1-1 draw with RB Leipzig did Brendan Rodgers a favour and made their 2-1 home loss to RB Salzburg inconsequential.
The relief felt at full-time was tinged with sadness after Ryan Christie was forced off with a nasty looking injury during the second half.
Rodgers has said that the Scottish midfielder left on crutches but the scale of the injury is not yet clear; he will be checked further in the coming days, which should obviously reveal more.
Christie has developed into a huge player for Celtic this season, grabbing the opportunities that have come his way and earning himself a new Parkhead contract in the process, so his absence is a real blow.

That was reflected in the reaction of the Celtic supporters on Twitter to the prospect of being without Christie for an extended period.
They are already fearing the worst but we’ve taken a look at some of the messages of support that came in for Christie as Bhoys fans hope he makes a speedy recovery.

We'll miss Ryan Christie big time gave us another option and he's come on to be a game winner. Ntcham hopefully grabs his chance at least Broonie looks to be coming back.
