Celtic star Nir Bitton has revealed it is his intention to agree a contract extension at Parkhead.
The 27-year-old is into the final year of his current deal and will become a free agent next summer as things currently stand.
The Israeli international has been with the Bhoys since 2013 and was signed by manager Neil Lennon during his first stint as manager at the club.

In 2019/20, Bitton started as a regular but then missed a handful of games with a thigh injury.
Speaking about his future, he said (quoted by The Scottish Sun): “I obviously want to stay at Celtic for as long as I can.
“I see my kids speaking English, which makes me very happy, so it’s good for all of us, and as long as it continues I’ll be happy. But, of course, it’s football so you never know what’s going to happen tomorrow, so we’ll see.”
TBR’s view – Bhoys should grant Bitton an extension
While he is not one of Celtic’s more glamourous names, the star has proven he is a handy squad player.

The fact he can play into positions is particularly helpful and, theoretically at 27, his best years are just about to come.
Bitton is a player whom, it might not seem a big deal to let go, but it could be something that comes back to bite Celtic if they did.
